Today I was determined to get a picture I have wanted for a long time,each time I go to this spot somethings not quite right ie the suns gone in,or mostly the clarity is not over the islands of Rum and Eigg, however today I tried again and this is the result. Great effort is made balancing the heavy Caber before attempting the lift(no easy task in itself)let alone trying to fling it over a complete somersault. This is the moment of great concentration.

I promised you more of the images I took yesterday at the Highland Games in Oban. This time its a wide angle shot taken close in as the Oban High school pipe band marched past at the end of their performance. Black 5 Steam train on west Highland line today

Took this shot today (friday) of Black 5 steam train hauling the jacobite between Fort William and Mallaig. This was another railway image I have wanted to get in the right conditions and today the light was good up until around 2pm The island of Rum is in the distance.

Today I made yet another effort to add more steam train pictures to my portfolio. OBAN HIGHLAND GAMES DAY PARADE

Yesterday morning I hiked myself up to the oban -hydro and gained access to a viewpoint above combie street.From here I had a great view of the Games parade led by a pipe band passing through Argyll square on the way to Mossfield park where the games are held.It was a perfect day for the games so watch out for more games pictures on my blog.

I took this picture recently in picturesque Tobermory on the Island of Mull. I borrowed a bottle of Tobermory single malt whiskey for the foreground and poured into a special engraved glass.This location must be one of the most photogenic harbours in the world.Its full of charactor and charactors.apart from its own whiskey it has its own soap,and chocolates all made here.www.scotphoto.com

Kilchurn castle Silhouette starburst Loch Awe

Dennis took this picture creating a deliberate silhouette with the setting sun streaming through a small vertical opening in the castle wall and the starburst effect was achieved by using a very small aperture of f22. This is another image that will soon be appearing on his new card range currently on sale in the Oban area.
