Sunset over Outer Hebrides from Ferry

Recently on my way back from the island of Barra I captured this amazing light over the distant islands of the southern outer Hebrides from Cal Mac ferry Clansman.(Before her Demise)The vessell was also followed by Bottlenose dolphins and Gannets.For images of all the Scottish islands go to http://www.scotphoto.com/ and http://www.ineedanimage.com/

THE TARBERT STORE ISLE OF HARRIS

Now here is a nice fellow,its the owner of the Tarbert stores on Harris Alex Morrison seen here outside his store on the pier at tarbert. He is so typical of the islanders from Harris and Lewis with an infectious dry humour and friendly demeanour.

COME BACK "CLANSMAN" WE MISS YOU SO MUCH

Actually I love the ferries that plough between oban and all the islands out there,but one of my favourite vessels is the "Clansman" which is at present a very sick ship. Many of us that travel on the cal mac fleet will also be missing her so much.The Hebridean Isles is a great vessel too but sadly she is not coping at all well with her new routes. I am currently working on building up a portfolio of local charactors,the faces of Oban,after all thats what makes any town is its people.I took this shot afew days ago on the railway pier Oban.Its a colourful lady "KI KI" and runs McGillivray,s seafood kiosk.Great Photogenic personality.

Hebridean Sunset spectacular.Island of Harris.

This magnificent sunset was taken from south Harris towards the North Harris hills .Dennis visited the Islands of Harris and Lewis in june this year in near perfect conditions. I love the islands and these two are amongst my favourites with Tiree,Barra,and Skye coming in close behind.

Sunset afterglow over the island of Eriska

This spectacular sunset was taken from the island of Eriska which is a private island in Argyll which has a Hotel , Spa and cottages to let.It also has lovely walks which take you around the island.This picture was taken near the new jetty on the N West corner of the island.Most of Dennis s new sunsets were taken on a Nikon D3X camera.

This beautiful sunset afterglow was taken from the North Ledaig caravan park which has the most beautiful views across towards Mull and the morvern hills.
