OBAN LIFEBOAT IN ACTION
Here is another dramatic shot taken by my son Tony of the Oban lifeboat bow-on in rough seas off the coast of Kerrera.Taken once again on a canon EOS1D Mk3 with a 16-35 f2.8 lense a very high speed.and Yes,the camera did suvive the salt water, but Tony, well that was another matter but he had every confidence that he would be rescued if he fell overboard.
OBAN LIFEBOAT IN ACTION
Dennis works closely with his son and partner "Tony" who is absolutely a photographer in his own right,so I thought I would show two great shots taken by Tony depicting the Oban lifeboat in action. We all take our hats off to these brave crews who would respond to a call out regardless of the conditions.Taken with Canon EOS1D Mk111 at 2000th of a second.

CASTLE STALKER SUNSET WITH MORVERN HILLS
This recent shot taken from the shore at appin with the afterglow of a stunning sunset with the black outline of castle Stalker and the Morvern hills. It helps when the pieces all fit together (ie) no wind, high tide, and the right kind of skye + massive ammounts of luckwww.scotphoto.com
LATE AUTUMN LIGHT OVER DUART CASTLE
The lighting on this image is very similar to the one from Eriska, this time its Duart castle from Mull with the hills of the mainland as awww backdrop.Every minute of every waking day presents us with new challenges and opportunities wherever we are.www.scotphoto.com also of local interest is www.benderloch.com
LATE AUTUMN VIEWS NOV 09
Today s forcast was that there would be a break between two weather fronts ,this lasted only about 1 hour but the light was dramatic.I dashed out ahead of this break and caught this shot of the Morvern hills from Eriska using a 300mm lense.

SUNSET TIME IN ARGYLL NOV09 part 4
The last few days have seen some improvement from the Rain so I was out and about looking for shots.I took this from Dunollie castle with the Clansman heading out to castlebay set against the hills of Mull lit bythe setting sun. Also captured were the lights on the vessel itself in the fast fading light.Canon 1DsMk3 with 70 200 f2.8 lense. This vessel had already made a return trip to Coll and Tiree earlier in the day.
SUNSET TIME IN ARGYLL NOV09 part 3
The last couple of days have seen stable weather with some good light and interesting sunsets.Dennis was out there with his camera waiting around just in case nature produced something special. Here are 3 shots of the sun setting over Ardentinney with the hills of mull in view. This shot was taken just as the sun fell behind the hills.
SUNSET TIME IN ARGYLL NOV09
Here is another image taken yesterday evening from Eriska towards Ardentinney point and Mull, this one was taken after the sun had gone down behind the Mull Hills and a slight afterglow is building up.I always shoot sunsets with a tripod because during the afterglow the light falls off quite dramatically.Dennis Hardley Photography
SUNSET TIME IN ARGYLL NOV09

The last couple of days have seen some nice light and so so sunsets in fact last night I went down to the island of Eriska and waited on the shore opposite Ardentinney point.Behind Ardentinney lie the hills on the island of Mull.Using my D3X with 300 tele lense I got this shot which worked out quite well I thought.www.scotphoto.com
