Class 37 deisel hauling freight across Loch Awe

This is a picture taken a long time ago showing a Class 37 loco hauling freight between Oban and Glasgow as it crosses Loch Awe near Dalmally.I really miss the pulsating powerful sound of these units, and remember too that they also hauled the passenger trains on the same route. Those were the good old days with Corridor coaches with your own compartment. The new sprinters are simply no match in comparison

HMS Edinburgh in Oban on Sunday 3rd April

Nice surprise on sunday when I spotted HMS Edinburgh D97 just outside the bay and for those who missed her brief visit here is a picture of Her with Maiden light in the foreground. She is a Type 42 Destroyer.
