TRIP TO UPPER GLEN NEVIS AUG 5th 09

Today was mostly cloudy with a few bright spells in the Glen Nevis region, however this kind of a day suits flowing water photography as it enables you to achieve much slower shutter speeds.Off course you can use a solid neutral density filter to cut the light down by two stops or more. For this shot Dennis Hardley used a Nikon D3X with a 14-24 f2.8 lens. There must have been hundreds of folk on Ben Nevis today as all the glen Nevis car parks were full.

TRIP TO UPPER GLEN NEVIS AUG 5TH 09

Dennis was out today picture hunting with his Nikon D3X camera and decided to drive up glen Nevis to the lower falls area.Above the falls in the river bed I took this shot using a 14-24 f2.8 lens on a Manfrotto DB55 pro multi task tripod. Here is the picture. For more pictures by Dennis and Tony Hardley visit http://www.scotphoto.com/ The red blur at top right was a jogger passing by.

CHOOSING PICTURES FOR ARRAN CALENDAR

Today at Dennis Hardley Photography we were amongst other things choosing a selection of images of ARRAN for possible use in a 2010 calendar. As you will know from my blog we visited this island last month so I am hoping some of these will be chosen for this calendar. Here is a shot taken in the picturesque village of Corrie at about 6.30 am with kind permission of the garden owner. To see more of these check out http://www.scotphoto.com/

BUTTERFLY IN CLOSE UP AUG 2ND 09

Today Dennis Hardley was out shooting in close up mode around the Benderloch area of Argyll .One of the pictures was of this whitish butterfly with green veins with a touch of yellow on the underside. According to my book on Butterfly's this looked very much like a Green Veined White. I used a Canon EOS1Ds Mk3 with a canon 100mm macro lens for this shot.
